Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Solo Interactive Studios ("we," "us," "our") collects through the Solo Interactive Studios website, forums, and companion launcher application (together, the "Service"), and how we use it. We're based across Australia and New Zealand, and this policy is written with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 in mind.
1. Information We Collect
Account information: email address, display name, password (stored as a salted hash — we never store or can see your actual password), optional status message.
Content you create: forum posts and replies, product reviews, messages you send to friends, contact form submissions, ban appeals.
Activity & relationship data: your game library, wishlist, cart, purchase/license history, friend connections, forum access status.
Technical & security data: IP address, browser/device information (for session identification), login timestamps, and last-active time (used to show your online/away/offline status to friends). Game client logins (from the Unreal/Unity integration) are tracked separately from web sessions.
2. Automated Security Monitoring
We run an automated system (CERBERUS) that scans text submitted through the Service for patterns associated with attacks like SQL injection and script injection, and logs these events for review by staff. Accounts that repeatedly trigger this system may be placed under closer automated monitoring, which can include logging IP address, timestamps, and which pages or actions you access. We keep this data to investigate abuse and Terms violations, and — where we're legally required to — to respond to law enforcement requests.
3. How We Use Information
To provide and operate the Service (your library, friends, messaging, forums); to keep the Service secure and prevent abuse (Section 2); to respond to support requests, appeals, and copyright reports; to enforce our Terms of Service.
4. Where Data Is Stored
Account and platform data is stored with TiDB Cloud (hosted in Singapore). Uploaded images (e.g., product artwork) are stored with Cloudflare R2. Both are infrastructure providers acting on our behalf — they don't use your data for their own purposes.
5. Who We Share Data With
We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers. We share data with:
- Our infrastructure providers (Section 4), solely to operate the Service.
- Law enforcement or other parties, only when legally compelled to (e.g., a valid subpoena or court order).
We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers on the Service.
6. Data Retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If your account is suspended or you ask us to close it, we may retain certain records (such as security/moderation logs) for a limited period afterward, as needed for security, legal, or dispute-resolution purposes.
7. Your Choices
From Account → Privacy & data, you can review what we hold on you, see and forget individual login sessions, and revoke game client logins. To update your email, display name, or status, use Account → Profile. To close your account entirely or request a copy of your data, contact us.
8. Cookies & Sessions
We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. We don't use tracking or advertising cookies.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from children under that age. See Terms of Service §1 for our account age requirement.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time; we'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
